Target Art 03:58
I will leave The gas stove on Like I always do You know I'm Forgetful While I lick my wounds And I will fall asleep While you call my phone The spark will ensure I won't sleep alone The kids ring Round the Rosie Calling out a cynic Watch mother Walk daughter Into a methadone clinic And I was never asleep While you called my phone Just laying flat on the floor But no one was home Some people still buy this shit Some people still buy this shit You believe that I lied, would you scoff at I tried? You can drive the car as far as I leapt You'll never know where I went Mouse chases after the sycophant

I've been stuck in a state Of perpetual sleep Don't know, could never tell By looking at open seas But still somehow shallow When it all boils down To the words that I say With poison from mouth Been caught holding onto Fleeting moments and views Of sheep past count in twos Lost but heard bleating the news That my other pants hold the truth My other lie, an excuse Given a mind to intrude What is substance abuse? Gone are the chickens As well as the cock Must have gone far along With that wayward flock Or not within distance At the very least To shake rocks from eyes stuck Perpetual sleep

Ed's Dead 03:33
I said, Hey Ed Would you like a new job instead? Something light Something that can get you on by I said, Hey Ed Would you like to bury the dead? Take a new life Get your car and tell me goodbye Because these days just keep on passing by And I'd rather not just watch you die He said Hey, my friend, I'm good where I am Just a son of a bitch who knows where to stand Maybe you're the one who needs some air We can go to hell and get some land down there No, I don't have patience or expect a lot Just a parking lot with my own little spot So don't be telling me to take a shot Because if I had five dollars it would be a lot They said he fled Took his car and drove through the bend Blew every light The engine roared with hell in his eyes He'll get them back His only motive now is revenge On through the night Until tomorrow shows him the light How did Ed get caught up in this mess? All I know is someone ends up dead And Ed said, Listen, my friend, they took all that I had And that's more than enough to make me mad And I'd bet bottom dollar from the top of my heart That you won't see me coming back 'round to these parts See them peering out the windows and behind the bar The howling of the engine that silences all Pull the key out the motor and put it in park A last look in the mirror before I open the door I said, Hey Ed Go and get your revenge I said, Hey Ed Go and get your revenge I said, Hey Ed Go and get your revenge I said, Hey Ed Put those fuckers to bed I said, Hey Ed Go and get your revenge I said, Hey Ed Put those fuckers to bed I said, Hey Ed Go and get your revenge I said, Hey Ed Put those fuckers to bed

My teeth have begun to fall out of my head And you know it's funny 'Cause I haven't been eating lately It's like they were filled with that dread Of something being pushed aside But never touched again So away they went The pain in my side is Becoming too much for me to bear There's a hole in my head And a ghost whispering Inside it And I don't know how much more I can take Before I listen to every single word It has to say About me Even if, and when, everything falls apart Will this remain about me? If I let it all fall by the wayside Like everything This is the sound of giving up And the sound of giving in But not to solve for any Amount of privileges This is the sound of giving up And the sound of giving in But not the song for any Amount of privileges This is the sound of giving up And the sound of giving in But not the solve for any Amount of privileges This is the sound of giving up And the sound of giving in Your favorite song is still being Written and this one isn't it I wanted to get my feet wet Without diving in the water Such fragility to maintain When you've always been in it

about

Lissajous I was recorded in mid-to-late 2020 at our studio in Chicago, Illinois. We took an entirely DIY approach with every aspect of our debut EP, using the microphones, hardware, and capabilities we had available to create music that is true to our vision and is a testament to this moment in time. We’re proud to present Lissajous I, the first in a series of releases, as the result of our efforts.

All lyrics written by Garrett Shafer, with the exception of "Ed's Dead," written by Anthony Corbo. Engineered and mixed by Avery Black and Anthony Corbo. Mastered by Avery Black.
